Planet Vikki Recommends: The Ship, Barry

Friday, 6 May 2016

Hey Guys!!

I haven't done a Planet Vikki Recommends in such a while so thought I would do one for you today. I must admit I haven't really gone anywhere new for a while either so was nice trying somewhere new.

A few Sundays back me and the husband decided to go for a little walk and to have some food, trying to think of somewhere to go we decided Barry as we haven't been in ages and its somewhere different. Llewellyn knew of a restaurant called The Ship and we decided to eat in there.

It was so cosy in there and was pretty busy as there was a Birthday gathering in there when we went. It's quite spacious when it comes to the way the tables are set up so you're not on top of everyone else eating which is nice. The booth we sat in also had a little tv, which you can see in the picture above, not that there was any volume and that we wanted to watch it.

To be honest it took me ages to decide on what to eat as I can be quite fussy and I wanted to try something different, usually I say that then have the same. I did know what dessert I was going to have though!!

I ended up having a Korma as I absolutely love it and haven't had a curry in ages. It was beautiful, I didn't eat it all as it came with chips, onion bahjis, naan bread, poppadoms, mint dip and mango chutney. What was really good was that the curry had actually a decent amount of chicken in as a few places I have been to haven't really had a lot of chicken in them.

I then had for a dessert a Salted Caramel Chocolate cake, now I am obsessed with salted caramel and if it's on the menu I will eat it. To be honest though I wasn't to impressed, for me I didn't think the caramel had a strong enough taste compared to the chocolate. I know you have to have the right balance as you don't want the caramel to overwhelm the rest of the dessert, I just like a strong caramel.

After our food then we took a lovely little stroll along the beach and watched the gorgeous sunset. We can be a romantic couple sometimes!

I hope you enjoyed this post.
Let me know in the comments if there are any restaurants you love that I could try!!

Hey Guys!!

I am back from my little break and I am glad to be getting the creative juices flowing so to speak. I wasn't having the greatest of times just before I took the break but have now turned that around and I'm happier than ever. I have done quite a bit the past few weeks, like going for walks, going bowling and the cinema. I have also started a Bullet Journal and must say I have never been more organised in my life! I may do a post on it in the future, if that is something you would like to see. Anyway I am back and keep your eyes peeled for some lovely posts coming your way this month.

Top L-R A beautiful sunset at Barry Island, Our little walk down Barry Island, Finally washed my make-up brushes

Bottom L-R My favourite place to be is looking out at the water in the Wetlands, Had a lovely little picnic then took a walk to the little lighthouse, Found my Disney ears and favourite sunglasses.

April Break

Wednesday, 6 April 2016

Hey Guys!!

As you may have seen I have kind of neglected my blog the past few weeks. I have kind of taken a bit of an impromptu break as I felt like everything was getting on top of me the past few weeks. I also had to get a new laptop, which is why I am able to post today, because my old one completely conked out :( Luckily can still play Sims on it still.

I will be continuing this break up until the end of April so that I can relax and then I will be coming back swinging with amazing posts of things I have got up to during this break. I also have a lot of things planned over the next few months that I can't wait to share with you.

Chloe's Birthday Party
Lukas Graham in Birmingham
Swansea
Bristol Zoo
Chester Zoo
Monkeyworld
Porthcawl

All these things are only up until August so there are a lot of exciting things happening this year. Just bare with me while I take this little break and get back into the swing of things.

Thank you for understanding!!

Hey Guys!!

I have hit a bit of a blogging slump it seems this week, I just couldn't get myself to sit and type anything but now I have got past it and ready to hit my planned posts head on. I love blogging and hate when I can't get posts out for you readers but I also don't want to put out posts that are not a great read.

Other than that I did a bit of shopping, had work as normal and just got things done that I needed to do. I also ordered myself some shoes as I don't seem to have enough as it is haha!!

Top My make-up buys from Superdrug, Nice little facemask on a Friday night

Bottom A gorgeous chinese meal after watching the rugby

What have your buys been this week?

Hey Guys!!

I didn't post much on Instagram this week as most of this week was spent in bed with Tonsillitus :( which is actually the 3rd time this year already! I really wish they would just take them out already but they won't. Other than that I had a pretty good week seeing friends and family.

Me and my best friend Kayleigh went to see Footloose, I enjoyed some Domino's with Leonardo Dicaprio and I really liked the outfit I wore yesterday.

Have you had your tonsils out?

See You Soon!!

Footloose

Hey Guys!!

I love musicals and I don't think I have ever really said how much I love them. I also love it when my favourite films become musicals and go on tour. So when my best friend text and said that Footloose was in the New Theatre in Cardiff I jumped at going.

Of course we made a day of it and went out in the afternoon to have food first. We decided to stuff our faces in Frankie & Benny's and we did really end up stuffed!! We then walked round to the theatre to see the most amazing show I have seen in a while.

We had already seen that Gareth Gates was in it so we couldn't wait to see him, especially Kayleigh as she loves him. He was so good in it and think he suited playing Willard so well. I was so happy when they done the part where Ren teaches Willard to dance, it's always been my favourite part of the film. Maureen Nolan was also in it playing Vi Moore and she was so good, I loved her voice.

Obviously I don't want to go into to much detail, though if you have seen the film you'll know what the musical will be like.

The whole cast was amazing and their voices were spectacular, I really want to go and see it again. I also loved that they got the whole audience involved at the end, everyone was up dancing and cheering!!

I definitely recommend this to anyone that loves musicals if it is being shown in a theatre near you!

Do you like Footloose?
