Kellys' Birthday Part 1 xo

Wednesday 30 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

Two weeks ago (20th July) we had another Birthday in the family to celebrate and this time it was Kellys' :) For her Birthday Martyn hired a Hot Tub for her, they had it from the Saturday night, all day Sunday until about 5pm Monday, can't go wrong for that amount of time!!

It was gorgeous, the bubbles were so relaxing and the temperature was just right :) It was a family affair as we were all over there to celebrate with a BBQ also :)

Here are some pictures from the evening :)

There's not many pictures as I was in the Hot Tub quite a while ha ha but I hope you've enjoyed this short little post and keep your eyes peeled for Part 2 :)

Outfit Of The Day: 20th July xo

Monday 28 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

As you seen from my previous post I went to help Mum on her stall, which you can read about HERE!! So I thought I would share with you what I wore and also how I had my hair as I tried out a new style :) I was getting a bit bored with just putting it in a pony all the time.

You have probably seen this in an Outfit post before, maybe, but I thought I would share it with you anyway. My strapped top is just a nice, thin, cotton material and I got this from Primark a while ago. Also with this top underneath is elastic so that you got a bit of extra support :) I paired with it my Red Wine coloured skater skirt, which is a bit heavier in the material and also a bit thicker, but I love it!! I actually had this for Christmas so I don't actually know where its from, I think Amazon. I also wore my black espadrilles but they're not pictured.

As I said above I wanted to do something different with my hair and decided to try out a Milkmaid Braid, my Mum finds the name of it funny!! My hairs not quite long enough that it completely meets in the middle but its not far off. Its quite easy to do, you just plait your hair in pigtails then lift one over to the left and pin it, then the other one over to the right and pin it. I must say I felt so cool having my hair like this as it was all off the back of my neck and it was lovely. If you would actually like to see a picture tutorial on this I can do that for you, just let me know in the comments :)

I Hope You Enjoyed This Post!!

Newport Fun Day xo

Friday 25 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

On Sunday 20th, I went to help my Mum with her stall at the Newport Fun Day. She started her little business before Christmas last year, she makes gift baskets, sweet cones and all different things for many different occasions. There was lots going on at this fun day, there was a football match, lots of other stalls, and also some dance groups were there.

The Fun Day was to raise money for a local family.

It was a gorgeous day and we did get a little sunburnt, even though we put spf30 on. I didn't take many pictures as we were selling bits here and there :) But here are the ones I did take :)

My Holiday Reading xo

Wednesday 23 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

As you know me and my lovely husband are off on holiday!! Obviously I have a whole new wardrobe, ooppss!! But of course the most important thing for my holiday is the books I am going to read.

I love reading as you know and I read a lot on a holiday either by the pool, on the beach or on my balcony (if we have one). The books I have chosen to take is Monday to Friday Man by Alice Peterson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and The Fault In Our Stars by John Green.

The Blurb

What do you do if you're 34, single and recovering from being jilted two weeks before your wedding day? This is the dilemma Gilly Brown finds herself in. While friends are marrying, having children and moving into the depths of the countryside, Gilly finds herself alone in London and holding on to her fractured family with their tragic past.
It's time to meet new people. So, she decides to get a Monday to Friday lodger, and after a succession of alarming interviews finally finds the perfect one in the shape of handsome reality television producer Jack Baker. Gilly falls for Jack's charm and is transported into an exciting social whirlwind of parties, dining out and glamour.
When Jack is introduced to Gilly's family and friends, it's only the attractive and eccentric Guy, the newest recruit to her dog-walking group, who isn't quite so convinced about Jack's intentions. As Guy watches them grow closer, his suspicions of Jack and his feelings for Gilly deepen. Is Jack so perfect after all... and what exactly does he get up to at the weekends?

The Blurb

Charlie is a freshman. And while he's not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie can't stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a deeply affecting coming-of-age story that will spirit you back to those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

The Blurb

"I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once."
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.
Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

I really can't wait to read all 3 of these books :) I have actually borrowed The Fault In Our Stars off my sister Chloe, where you can visit HERE. She did warn me that I might cry reading it so will keep my sunglasses on just in case!! I like that 2 of the books I'm reading are popular so I have an idea about what they will be like, but what's great is I don't know anyone that has read Monday to Friday Man so I don't know what to expect :)

I will let you all know in another post what I think of these books!!

Studio Haul xo

Monday 21 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

It was a bit of a miserable day a couple of weeks back and was thinking about my holiday, then logically thought I could do with some brand new clothes (not), it was more I needed things for the evenings. So out came my Studio catalogue with who I have an account with, you can have a look at their clothes HERE they also do gifts, homeware, electricals and loads more :)

So this is what I bought :)

I've been wanting a casual midi-dress for ages and I thought this was perfect though I did want a patterned one but they were out of stock :( The jumpsuit is a very nice, thin material and can see me being lovely and cool wearing it :) I've also been obsessed with Kimonos lately and when I seen the floral and pink lace ones I just automatically clicked add to basket.

I will be doing proper outfit posts on these clothes when I'm away so you can look forward to more detailed posts then :)

Hope You Enjoyed This Post!!

Walking Olly :)

Friday 18 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

On the 16th Mum thought it would be a good idea to take Olly for a walk over the Newport Wetlands!! I of course said yes as it means I can get a bit of fitness in as it is a big place to walk. We took him on the dog route as there is a specific route to take him :) So me, Chloe, Lauren, Mum, Nan & Grandad embarked on a 2 mile walk :)

We saw so many lovely flowers and plants, as you can see above, and me and Chloe were so excited at the amount of caterpillars on 1 flower!! In the end picture the Lighthouse marked 2 miles and by this point we were boiling and Olly was so tired, so turned back and came home :)

I hope you enjoyed this little Lifestyle post and you can look forward to a few more posts coming up :)

Reading Habits Tag

Friday 11 July 2014

Hey Guys!!

I actually seen this post on Water Painted Dreams and thought that because I haven't posted in a while I will do a Tag post :) I haven't read for a while but am getting back into reading again now we're settled in our new home and thought why not share my habits through this tag with you :)

1. Do you have a certain place for reading at home?
I tend to read a lot on my sofa, or I will go and sit in bed :)

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I have this really cute Winnie the Pooh bookmark that I am sure I got in a cracker at Christmas one year :)

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter or a certain number of pages?
I have to finish the chapter, I hate leaving a book while I'm still in the middle of a chapter!!

4. Do you eat or drink when reading?
Now that I think about it no I don't, I literally get so engrossed in a book I don't do either.

5. Do you watch TV or listen to music whilst reading?
I will put it on in the background as it helps me to concentrate on what I'm reading.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
I always read one book at a time, I get easily confused if I read to many.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I will read anywhere, I especially love reading at the beach :)

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I always read in my head :)

9. Do you ever read ahead or skip pages?
Um I think it depends on what I'm reading, if I'm not enjoying it I might have a look ahead to see if something exciting is coming up.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
I always try to keep the spine in tact but always fail :(

11. Do you write in your books?
No have never wrote in my books, I might start keeping a notebook by me and write down anything I like from a book though :)

12. What are you currently reading?
I am currently reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. I actually am 5 books behind my yearly schedule so trying to read quickly so might be on a different book in the next few days :)

I am on Goodreads if anyone would like to add me on there!!
Feel free to have a go at this tag as it is interesting to see how many people have the same habits or very different habits!!

See You All Soon!!
